The Freelance Chronicles #8
Every month I learn something new during my freelance career, and this month I learned to appreciate the power of word of mouth. While we’re going through the COVID-19 pandemic it’s understandably hard to get brands and businesses to bring in a new collaborator. I’ve been lucky that most of my clients are once again picking up and running with their content and marketing strategies. Finding new clients to work with has been a bit trickier.
However, word of mouth has seen me start collaborating with at least three more brands this month alone. People who have worked with me while I’ve been freelancing have recommended me to others and a few of those have contacted me to work with me. It’s been so exciting and rewarding to know that those I’ve worked with have really valued what I’ve produced. Warm fuzzies all round!
While it has been a smidge quieter (not that much, though, to be fair), I’ve been working on getting as much information about what I do onto this website. I’ve added testimonials from some of my ongoing clients, I’ve added an extra service (briefing services), and I’ve been dreaming up blog topics, other services I can offer in the future, and making a list of people I’d love to work with in the future.
I couldn’t have picked a more intense year to jump into the self-employment world, but I am absolutely loving what I do and I hope to keep helping more and more brands with their content strategy and marketing plans into the future.
